How long does each service take?
Special event hair or makeup appointments usually take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the style requested.
Bridal Hair and Bridal Makeup services maximize the full 1 hour per service to ensure every detail is perfected for your special day.
Is a deposit required to secure my booking?
Yes. A 20% deposit is required to secure your appointment date and time. Deposit payment is accepted via e-transfer only. The remaining balance is due on the day of the appointment. Cash or e-transfer.
Is there a travel fee?
Yes. Travel fees are additional and vary depending on the location. Please refer to the service menu for travel fee details. All travel fees are calculated based from Richmond, BC.
Should I prep my skin before my appointment?
We will begin every service with professional skin prep customized to your skin type and needs. So come with a clean skin and no mascara.
If you have a specific moisturizer or cream you personally love, you are welcome to bring it with you. Please avoid using heavy skincare products before your appointment.
Should I stop using retinol or active skincare products before my event?
Yes. Please stop using retinol and strong active ingredients at least one week before your event to avoid skin peeling, irritation, or sensitivity.
If your skin is currently peeling due to strong skincare actives, pause their use and focus on hydration and strengthening your skin barrier leading up to your event.
Do you use sunscreen during makeup application?
Yes. During summer appointments, we prep clients’ skin with a non-white-cast sunscreen that works beautifully under makeup.
Can I bring inspiration photos?
Absolutely. Inspiration photos are very helpful in understanding your vision, preferences, and expectations. It also helps me see what styles you love and what you may want to avoid.
Should my hair be clean or dirty for styling?
Please wash your hair the day before your event. Clean hair creates a softer, fresher, and more polished result. Contrary to popular belief, overly dirty hair does not style better. Your hair will be professionally prepped with foundational styling products to help achieve long-lasting hold, volume, and all-day longevity.
Can I wash my hair the morning of my appointment?
It’s best not to. However, if you do need to wash your hair that morning, please make sure your hair, including the roots is completely dry before your appointment.
Please ensure hair is fully dry prior to your appointment. Damp or wet hair requires additional drying time, may not hold the style properly, and can affect the longevity, overall finish, and maximum volume of the hairstyle. To achieve the best results, please avoid using heavy conditioners, oils, or hair serums before your appointment, as these products can weigh the hair down.
Can I bring accessories or hair extensions?
Absolutely. Please bring any hair accessories, veil, jewelry, or extensions you would like incorporated into your hairstyle. Pre-clipped extensions or hair topper are preferred to help streamline styling time. There is no additional charge for extension placement or installation during your appointment.
Can I bring hair inspiration photos?
Yes please. Inspiration photos are extremely helpful.
For the best expectations, try to choose photos with a similar hair color and hair length to your own. Some intricate or highly creative hairstyles may not be achievable within a 45-minute to 1-hour appointment.
Any preparation tips before my event?
Yes, please steam your dress or outfit the night before your event. Avoid steaming clothing after your hair and makeup are completed, as the heat and moisture can affect the final result and longevity of the styling.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Please wear a button-up shirt, zip-up top, robe, or anything that can be removed easily without pulling it over your head. This helps prevent disturbing your hair and makeup after the service is completed.
For bridal trials, please wear a white top so you can better visualize your overall bridal look and see how your hair and makeup will appear on your actual wedding day.
